After much contemplation and discussion with officers of the Magisterium Vanguard, we have made the difficult decision to move the guild to Illidan. Illidan is a pvp server, however, the ratio is 1: .04 Horde to Alliance. This is also the # 1 server US side, progression is good, recruitment is good, and the community is thriving.
Having been on Earthen Ring for many years, we have agreed that its seen its best days. Many big names and guilds have left the server in the recent months. Several factors including, the decline in the viability of raiding have influenced our decisions:
1) Earthen Ring at best has 14K players on it, with a 1: 0.58 Horde Alliance Ratio.
2) Raiding viability is down on ER
3) Progression is down on ER
4) Illidan is the #1 server, highest progressed, and best community with over 27K predominantly horde players
It is for these reasons that we think that the best decision to continue progression is to move the guild at this time.
Now for the bigger question what the move means for all of us. When the move happens, which will be this Sunday November 13, The guild and everything about the guild name included will be transferred to Illidan. The guild that will remain on ER will be The Magisterium Vanguard in name only. You will all still be in the guild and those that wish to join us on Illidan, and we hope that all of you will or will in time, can and are encouraged to do so. To do so, here is what you must do. 1) Do not leave the guild, instead at your earliest go to services on the community site for wow and request a guild server transfer for your character in the guild. By remaining in the guild, you will transfer to Illidan with your rep and rank intact. 2) Unfortunately the server transfer is not a free process, and some have offered to provide some funds for those that would like to continue with the Vanguard on Illidan.
We are very sorry to have to leave ER, but in terms of progression and the best interest of attaining progression it is not at the moment conducive to this goal. Again the transfer will take place on Sunday, you should all receive in game mails confirming this as well. We hope to see the vast majority of you on Illidan and of course there is always random finder that is cross server.
The shadow of the Magisterium Vanguard left behind on ER will have Vaelance appointed as guild leader in the interim.
